When the thief turn on the personal computer, the GPS devicewill calculate and record the current latitude and longitude of the theft automatically. Users can tell the geographic location of the theft to the police to solve the case.
The GPS technologyalso can detect changes of the computer hardware. When the GPS device detects the theft want to change the software and data of the computer, the GPS devicewould send a message to users? phones to inform them the theft attempt to change the computer?s data. Owners can also control computers remotely to prohibit the software installation and delete sensitive files.
Although this user-friendly GPS devicehas been in the market for a short time, but the humane features of the GPS devicehas been recognized by personal computer manufacturers. Many computer manufacturers including Dell, HP, Lenovo, Toshiba and Fujitsu have been employed this kind of GPS technology.

SOUTH AFRICA: S. African miners charged with murder of colleagues

AFP - Arrested Lonmin mine workers were on Thursday charged with the murder of 34 striking colleagues who were shot dead by South African police on August 16 during a strike over wages.

"The court today charged all the workers with murder, under the common purpose law," spokesman for the prosecutor's office Frank Lesenyego said.

Police opened fire on striking workers at the Marikana mine after a stand-off had already led to the death of 10 people including two police officers.

Following the shootings, 270 workers were arrested.

All the men were in custody and the state postponed the case until Thursday of next week to allow for further investigations.

Lesenyego said details of the murder charges would be revealed during the bail hearing.

One expert, however, questioned the charges.

"In charging the miners for the death of miners killed by the police, I don't see how common purpose doctrine could be used here," said Vincent Nmehille, a law professor at the University of the Witwatersrand.

Police have defended the shootings at the mine outside Rustenburg, northwest of Johannesburg, as self-defence.

The incident was the worst day of police violence in South Africa since the end of white-minority apartheid rule in 1994.

Obama administration hikes CAFE fuel economy standard to 54.5 mpg

Some people here are saying a prius, the symbol of new-gen electric technology, costs an arm and an leg at over 50k plus 10k for battery replacements. this is a complete lie.

i just went to toyota's site, it costs $18,950 for a basic model and maxing out at around 30k for fully loaded. not to mention you get government tax credits of around 5 - 8k for buying an hybrid or electric vehicle. this essentially means the base model will only cost you a little over 10k.

new battery packs in the prius costs between 2 - 3k every 8-10 years in replacement.

if you take the average, same class vehicle as prius (corolla, tercel, focus etc), which refuels at around $100 on average a month for most full time commuters, you will be spending around 12k in fuel costs alone within 10 years.

your total monthly electricity bill will rise about $20 / month on average if you drive around 1000 miles a month. that is around 2 cents / mile.

electric fuel is the future and no amount of taboo, myths or lies will derail the people from their prosperity and freedom away from oil slavery.

South Sudan: Full oil production could take 1 year

(AP) ? South Sudan says it will up to a year to restart full oil production in some of its oil fields due to damage done by Sudanese forces during clashes last in April.

Speaking Thursday, South Sudanese Minister of Petroleum and Mining Stephen Dhieu Dau said assessments are being conducted by teams from the ministry and oil operators in the country to determine exactly how long it will take to resume pumping oil. All of South Sudan's oil is produced in Unity and Upper Nile states, along the border with Sudan.

According to the Minister, Upper Nile's well could take four to six months to resume full production, while the Unity field could take between ten and twelve months.

Republicans nominate Romney at storm-hit convention

TAMPA, Florida (Reuters) - Republicans nominated Mitt Romney on Tuesday to challenge President Barack Obama for the White House, kicking off their storm-delayed convention with a barrage of sharp attacks on Obama's economic leadership.

The formal nomination of Romney and his running mate, Paul Ryan, sets up a two-month final dash to the November 6 election. Opinion polls show Romney running even with or slightly behind the Democratic president.

The convention's opening was pushed back a day by a storm threat, but Republicans wasted no time in condemning Obama's economic record and reminding voters of the stubbornly high national unemployment rate and growing budget deficit.

Reince Priebus, chairman of the Republican National Committee, warned that re-electing Obama would mean "four more years of failure."

"We have a message for America: Elect Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan and they'll get America working again," he said to loud cheers. "We must send America's comeback team to Washington."

But as Republicans tried to show a united front against Obama, it was clear on Tuesday that bitter divisions within their party have not been resolved.

Supporters of libertarian congressman Ron Paul of Texas and other conservative activists briefly disrupted the opening session, booing a decision to unseat Paul delegates from Maine and institute rules changes they believe will weaken their power in the next election cycle.

The rules changes, approved by the convention on a voice vote, will bind delegates to the results of a statewide vote and reduce the role of smaller state-level conventions where Paul had success.

Opponents of the move said that Romney's operatives and the party's establishment were trying to freeze them out. Some noted that in the state-by-state roll call of delegates to count votes for the presidential nomination, only Romney's vote totals were announced from the podium.

"We were disenfranchised by our party. We won't participate with this chaos," said Russell Montgomery, 52, of St. George, Maine. "We won't legitimize this fiasco. This is as bad as the other party - the corruption."

The opening night will be capped by prime-time speeches by Romney's wife, Ann, and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.

Romney, who had originally planned to stay out of the spotlight until Thursday night when he accepts his party's nomination, made an early appearance in the Florida host city to be on hand for his wife's turn at the podium.

Republicans hope to use the convention to make an aggressive argument for booting Obama from office while presenting a softer side of Romney, who is struggling to overcome a "likability gap" with the president and refute critics who paint him as a job-killing, out-of-touch former private equity executive.

In excerpts of her speech, Ann Romney said her husband has attacked every challenge he has faced - from reviving the struggling Salt Lake City Olympics to helping her battle multiple sclerosis and breast cancer.

"At every turn in his life, this man I met at a high school dance has helped lift up others," Romney, 63, will tell the convention.

"This is the man who will wake up every day with the determination to solve the problems that others say can't be solved, to fix what others say is beyond repair," she said. "This is the man who will work harder than anyone so that we can work a little less hard."

HURRICANE POLITICS

Republicans have hoped their convention will not be overshadowed by Hurricane Isaac, forecast to hit in the New Orleans area seven years after it was devastated by Hurricane Katrina. They also have worried about being seen celebrating Romney's nomination while swathes of the Gulf Coast were under storm threat.

While Tampa was spared the brunt of Isaac, a destructive landfall in Louisiana in the next day or so could create uncomfortable split-screen television images of the convention juxtaposed with the hurricane.

The Republican gathering will culminate with Romney's nationally televised acceptance speech on Thursday, the biggest speaking engagement of his political life.

Obama, campaigning in Iowa and Colorado, dismissed the Republican attacks and said the agenda his political foes were rolling out in Tampa made for a "pretty entertaining show."

He said Romney's economic plan would benefit the rich at the expense of the middle class.

"In just over two months, you will make a choice about which path we take, and it's going to be a stark choice," he told a campaign rally at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.

The Republicans' headline speakers later on Tuesday night are expected to keep making their party's case against Obama while arguing that Romney could do a better job.

Expectations are high for the keynote speech by Christie, New Jersey's confrontational governor, which is likely to be heavy on red-meat rhetoric for conservatives.

Many Republicans like Christie's in-your-face style, which contrasts with Romney's stiff demeanor and has made him a rising political star.

"You start turning it around tonight," Christie told ABC's "Good Morning America" program when asked how to overcome some voters' lack of enthusiasm for Romney.

Vice presidential contender Ryan, a Wisconsin congressman, tops the bill of speakers on Wednesday.

Relationship Burnout: Is This Happening to You? | ABC Marriage

your Relationship Burnout: Is This Happening to You?

No couple wants to discuss the end of a marriage and for good reason. When trouble starts, you begin wishing for the times when you were happiest in your marriage. Things are changing and you feel helpless. This is especially true when your partner refuses to discuss the problem.

Starting a marriage seriously means committing for the long term. You could have wanted a romantic marriage that lasts forever. But there are always bumps along the way. There are things that you do that may come out badly. If you want to add spice to your marriage, you don?t need a third social gathering to do it. You just need to renew your faith and love for your partner.

If you are wondering about how to survive an affair, so do many people in committed interactions. People in relationships always want to know how to make the good feelings last. The mundane day by day activities could put a damper on romance. But you realize you can?t live your life everyday with your head up in the clouds. Sooner or later, principles and matter-of-fact decisions cause clashes. Romance may get replaced by matter-of-fact considerations and companionship.

Always mull over what is causing the burnout. Maybe you?re reaping the effects of a harmless white lie you told in the past. It might be that your spouse distrusts you and vice verse. It might be possessiveness that stifled the love. There are a lot of mistakes you may have made while you were starting out, and this really is the time to correct that.

Show your partner that you?re still committed to making this work. Your spouse may be feeling pessimistic. You should let your partner know that you continue to want to work with him to keep the marriage going. Trusting your partner can make him feel more appreciated and forgiven.

Let your authentic personality shine. It takes an open minded person to strike a balance between being civil and being honest about his or her feelings. Every person is capable of forgiveness, and this is your chance to show that you, too, know how to forgive. Being true to yourself and to your partner will encourage him to be honest with you, too.

You should ask your partner to work with you to learn how to survive an affair. You both can move on if you really need to. As you go about your daily routine again, show your partner that your marriage is important to you.

Give each other the chance to come to terms with the new feelings. Breathing space is needed. In between reflections, you ought to still spend quality time. Only if you both feel the same way can you start rebuilding faith again.

Nutrition tied to improved sperm DNA quality in older men: Healthy micronutrient intake linked to reduced DNA fragmentation

ScienceDaily (Aug. 27, 2012) ? A new study led by scientists from the U.S. Department of Energy's Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab) found that a healthy intake of micronutrients is strongly associated with improved sperm DNA quality in older men. In younger men, however, a higher intake of micronutrients didn't improve their sperm DNA.

In an analysis of 80 healthy male volunteers between 22 and 80 years of age, the scientists found that men older than 44 who consumed the most vitamin C had 20 percent less sperm DNA damage compared to men older than 44 who consumed the least vitamin C. The same was true for vitamin E, zinc, and folate.

"It appears that consuming more micronutrients such as vitamin C, E, folate and zinc helps turn back the clock for older men. We found that men 44 and older who consumed at least the recommended dietary allowance of certain micronutrients had sperm with a similar amount of DNA damage as the sperm of younger men," says Andy Wyrobek of Berkeley Lab's Life Sciences Division.

"This means that men who are at increased risk of sperm DNA damage because of advancing age can do something about it. They can make sure they get enough vitamins and micronutrients in their diets or through supplements," adds Wyrobek.

Wyrobek conducted the research with a team of researchers that includes Brenda Eskenazi of the University of California at Berkeley's School of Public Health and scientists from the University of Bradford in the United Kingdom. They report their findings in the August 27 online issue of the journal Fertility and Sterility.

Their research comes as more men over 35 have children, which raises public health concerns. Previous research conducted in Wyrobek's lab found that the older a man is, the more he's likely to have increased sperm DNA fragmentation, chromosomal rearrangements, and DNA strand damage. Older men are also more likely to have increased frequencies of sperm carrying certain gene mutations, such as those leading to dwarfism. These findings help explain why aging men are less fertile and are predicted to have more chromosomally defective pregnancies and a higher proportion of offspring with genetic defects.

But until now, researchers haven't understood whether diet can protect against the detrimental effects of aging on the sperm genome.

The scientists studied a group of about 80 men between 20 and 80 years old with an average age of 44. They were recruited several years ago as part of the California Age and Genetic Effects on Sperm Study when Wyrobek was at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Each man who participated in the study filled out a 100-item questionnaire that estimated their average daily vitamin intake, both from food and supplements.

In addition, their sperm DNA quality was assessed via a lab analysis in which a voltage gradient pulls broken DNA strands from intact strands within the sperm nucleus.

Each volunteer's intake of a micronutrient was classified as low, moderate, or high based on how they compared to other participants. The median daily intake, both from diet and supplements, was 162 milligrams for vitamin C, 23.7 milligrams for vitamin E, 2,586 micrograms for ?-carotene, 475 grams for folate, and 12.3 milligrams for zinc. Many participants, even those who reported to be healthy, consumed much less than the recommended dietary allowance for many of the micronutrients.

The scientists analyzed the data several ways and came up with the same result each time: A diet high in antioxidants and micronutrients may decrease the risk of producing sperm with DNA damage, especially in older men.

Why this is so isn't a mystery. Antioxidants scavenge reactive molecules that cause oxidative damage to cells. Studies have shown that dietary supplementation with antioxidants and increased consumption of antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables can decrease the amount of oxidative DNA damage.

Based on their results, the scientists believe this same protective mechanism may also be at work in the reproductive tract of older men.

"The different response of the old and young men presents new opportunities for health care, especially for older men planning families," says Wyrobek.

More research is needed, however. Although the scientists found a clear link between higher vitamin intake and improved sperm DNA quality in older men, they don't know whether this link extends to male fertility and the health of offspring.

"Our research points to a need for future studies to determine whether increased antioxidant intake in older fathers will improve fertility, reduce risks of genetically defective pregnancies, and result in healthier children," says Wyrobek. "The research also raises a broader question beyond sperm DNA: How might lifestyle factors, including higher intakes of antioxidants and micronutrients, protect somatic as well as germ cells against age-related genomic damage?"

Republicans shuffle schedule as Isaac threatens

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) ? Republicans will formally bestow their presidential nomination on Mitt Romney on Tuesday night, one day later than planned, officials announced Sunday as they revised the schedule for a national convention curtailed by the threat of Tropical Storm Isaac.

Romney will deliver his acceptance speech before a nationally television audience Thursday night as originally planned.

In a conference call with reporters, Romney's chief convention planner, Russ Schriefer, left open the possibility of additional schedule changes depending on the weather.

Yet he sidestepped when asked about the advisability of holding the convention if the storm makes landfall near New Orleans, as forecasts indicate it could, near the seventh anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

The convention will formally convene on Monday but remain in session for only 10 minutes, a plan dictated by concerns that the weather in the Tampa Bay region could threaten harm to delegates and others who have converged on the city.

Formal nominations for Romney and his running mate, Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin, are slated for Tuesday at roughly the time the television networks air their evening news.

Tuesday evening's program includes remarks by Ann Romney, the candidate's wife, as well as by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, previously announced as the keynote speaker.

Ryan will deliver his acceptance speech Wednesday evening in prime time in the eastern part of the United States, and Romney's speech dominates the final night.

Real estate tycoon Donald Trump, originally scheduled to speak on Monday, was dropped from the program in the weather-related reshuffling.

Sandy Botkins: Tax Advantages of Starting a Home Based Business

Sandy Botkin, author and tax specialist tells us how we can get enormous tax breaks just from having our very own home based business. Mr. Botkin has educated thousands of people on how to save millions of on their taxes each year. With over twenty years of teaching people how to reduce what they pay out in taxes, 3 years in the tax department of international accounting firm, Touche Ross, and 5 years as a legal specialist in the IRS, he certainly has an extensive knowledge base of taxes and how you can save money on them, and he is so graciously willing so share with us how we can do that!

Good Tax Laws

The US government have put ?good tax laws? in place especially for small businesses, giving one the opportunity to take tax deductions first before paying anything in taxes. If you take advantage of these ?good tax laws?, you are providing yourself the opportunity to save a ton of money no matter if you work in your spare time, part time, or full time. All you are required to do is run your own business with the honest expectation of a profit. When it comes to paying taxes, the rich have a secret that most people aren?t aware of. There are two kinds of tax systems within the United States. The first one is for employees, to make you poor, and the other is for those that own a home-based business, designed to create economic growth for you. Small home-based businesses in America generate over 70% of job growth in the US.

A nationally syndicated economist and commentator on personal finance, Jane Bryant Quinn studied a couple who made only $40,000 a year. Most of you know that this really isn?t enough money to survive on these days. The couple talked it over, and it was decided that the wife would go out and get a second job. In doing so, they made an extra $20,000 a year, only being able to keep around $995.00 of it. Why is that? Well, the couple had to pay out $4,845 between federal and state taxes, pay around $1530.00 into social security, spend $1430.00 in commuter and traveling expenses. Add in food expenses, buying clothes, child care and more, all non-deductible.

What is the answer to avoiding this yourself?

If you take advantage of the information provided in Sandy?s video, you have the potential to write off a portion of your house, your spouse, children?s education, and even their weddings. You can also setup a pension plan, that in comparison to the one?s offered by the government are huge. By building your own home based business, you are allowing yourself to have the time and freedom to do what you want, while being able to be your own boss, chase your own dreams and best of all, make extra income for you and your family.

Robert Pattinson, Katy Perry Dating: Rumor or Reality?

Well things haven?t calmed down at all when it comes to the R-Patz rumor mill. First, he was getting back with Kristen, then he wasn?t. Next he was hooking up with Reese Witherspoon, then he wasn?t. What?s next? Well, naturally another young celebrity is on the list. This one just abruptly ended a marriage, and even dated heartthrob John Mayer. I can see where she would be a likely target. The rumor has it that Pattinson and Perry sat down for an official date together. Some sites even claim to have text message evidence. GASP! The sites say that they met for a date in the SOHO district of New York City. As much as we would like to believe something like this, I have found out it isn?t true. The king of celebrity rumor denials, GossipCop, says that this is a totally ?pants of fire? lie. They point out specific things about the HollywoodLife article that originally posted the rumor. For example, the site says that they have a history together, which is actually just a normal friendship. Sure, Rob may have reached out to friends when the break-up happened. He may have even called up Katy to help [...]

(AP) ? Roger Clemens raved about all the fun he had pitching at age 50 and putting smiles on the faces of Sugar Land baseball fans.

Still, it wasn't enough to set his mind on a major league comeback ? at least not yet.

"No," Clemens said. "I've had success before at that level and other things. Again, it's a great deal of work and I'm not thinking that at this point."

Pitching for the first time in five years, Clemens tossed 3 1-3 scoreless innings Saturday night for the Sugar Land Skeeters of the independent Atlantic League.

He faced the Bridgeport Bluefish and struck out two, including former major leaguer Joey Gathright to start the game. He allowed one hit without a walk and threw 37 pitches.

Scouts from the Houston Astros and Kansas City Royals were on hand to see Clemens' comeback ? for however long it lasts and wherever it leads.

"I think it will fuel that speculation," Royals pro scout Ron Toenjes said after watching the performance. "I just don't know what will happen. I don't think anyone does."

Clemens received a standing ovation when he left the game. He stopped to tip his cap to the overflow crowd of 7,724 before heading into the dugout to begin recuperating and see how his body responds to his big night.

Sugar Land manager Gary Gaetti, a two-time All-Star third baseman with the Minnesota Twins, said he was impressed by Clemens' outing after such a long layoff. He admitted before the game he was a bit concerned about how things would go because of Clemens' age and time off.

"He did a great job," Gaetti said. "He really did."

Tal Smith, a longtime Astros executive and currently a special adviser to the Skeeters, said Clemens had great command and that he believes he could pitch in the majors again.

The Rocket agreed to join the Skeeters on Monday after throwing a simulated game for team officials. He was still feeling the effects from that workout Saturday, and said he would have pushed back this start if he didn't have other commitments coming up in the next few days.

"I probably overextended myself a little bit," Clemens said, later adding that he'll be spending a lot of time icing his aging body in the upcoming days. "I wanted to see where I was at. Anytime you do these, they're fun but you don't want to go out and embarrass yourself or embarrass the club."

He didn't rule out the possibility of making another start for the Skeeters, and said he'd discuss it with Gaetti in the next few days.

"We'll visit and if we can do something special down the road, we'll do it again for some of the people that couldn't get here," Clemens said. "I'm definitely open to it if they want to do it. It was a great deal of fun for me now that it's over and I stayed healthy."

Clemens certainly was happy to be back on a diamond instead of in a courtroom. In June, the seven-time Cy Young Award winner was acquitted of charges he lied to Congress when he denied using performance-enhancing drugs.

Clemens, who last pitched for the New York Yankees in 2007, worked a 1-2-3 first inning and fanned two. His fastball was clocked at 88 mph, and he mixed in curves and splitters. He finished with four groundouts and four flyouts.

Toenjes liked what he saw.

"The thing that I was impressed with is you have a 50-year-old man out there throwing 87-88 (mph) most of the night, and he's got a real good splitter," he said. "His command wasn't as good as it could have been, but that it was a good, hard splitter, which is what you wanted to see."

Wearing the No. 21 that he sported during his rise to fame with Boston nearly three decades ago, Clemens got a big cheer when he took the mound.

After whiffing Gathright, Clemens retired Luis Figueroa on a grounder and struck out Prentice Redman to end the inning. The sellout crowd, with many fans wearing Skeeters T-shirts with Clemens' name on them, gave him another loud ovation.

Gathright thought Clemens would be more erratic.

"He didn't lose any command. Everything was pretty good for somebody that age," Gathright said.

Clemens didn't allow a hit until James Simmons' single with two outs in the second. He retired the next batter to end the eight-pitch inning.

Clemens has a bit of a belly that scores of 50-year-olds have, but he was effective enough against many hitters who were almost half his age.

He is set to appear on the Hall of Fame ballot going out to voters late this year. If he plays in a major league game this season, his consideration for Cooperstown would be pushed back five years.

Clemens, who wore gray cleats with bright yellow accents, needed 13 pitches to get through a perfect third inning. He threw one more pitch after that and Figueroa lined out to end Clemens' night with the Skeeters on top 1-0.

That was the final score, too.

After he left the game, Clemens stood along the railing of the dugout and chatted with his teammates, including fellow former major league pitcher Scott Kazmir and Jason Lane, who played with Clemens on Houston's 2005 World Series team.

Fans kept inching down near the dugout armed with phones, iPads and other cameras looking to snap a picture and collect a memory of the big night in this Houston suburb about 20 minutes from downtown.

Playing close to home, Clemens had a large group of friends and family among the crowd, including wife Debbie and sons Kacy and Kody.

Clemens earned about $160 million and won 354 games in a 24-year career with the Red Sox, Blue Jays, Yankees and Astros. His 4,672 strikeouts are third-most and he was picked for 11 All-Star games.

Clemens has spent much of his time out of baseball defending his reputation.

He was accused by former personal trainer Brian McNamee in the Mitchell Report on drugs in baseball of using steroids and HGH, allegations Clemens denied before Congress. The Justice Department began an investigation into whether he had lied under oath, and in 2010 a grand jury indicted him on two counts of perjury, three counts of making false statements and one count of obstructing Congress.

He was acquitted of all the charges on June 19 after a 10-week trial and had largely stayed out of the public spotlight until now.

Many of his former teammates have said they believe that he could pitch again in the majors.

Clemens had two great seasons with the Astros after he turned 40, going 18-4 with a 2.98 ERA in 2004 to win his record seventh Cy Young Award. He was 13-8 with a career-low 1.87 ERA in 2005 while helping his hometown Astros reach their only World Series, and the team has already said it wouldn't rule out bringing him back this year.

On Saturday, he sounded as though he'd be more interested in joining fellow former Houston stars Craig Biggio and Jeff Bagwell in advising the players on what is the worst team in the majors right now than returning to play there himself.

"Where I can help, I'll do it," Clemens said. "I still think our hometown team, the Houston Astros, need some identity right now and I sure hope that Biggio and Bagwell come back if I'm running out there because they have a wealth of knowledge and they can help these young kids if they want to listen."

College Football: No-huddle returns at UGA

slideshow ATHENS ? Georgia?s first season pushing the pace with its no-huddle offense created more than 200 additional opportunities for Aaron Murray and the Bulldogs than in 2010.

Murray says he can?t wait to see what a second season in the no-huddle attack can do for No. 6 Georgia.

By hurrying the offense back into formation and calling plays at the line, instead of in a huddle, Georgia?s 1,016 plays in 2011 easily led the Southeastern Conference. No other SEC team reached 900 plays.

In 2010, Georgia ran 814 plays.

Murray said the benefit is obvious.

?It?s huge,? he said. ?The more plays you get, the more chances you have to score, the more chances you have to get the ball in people?s hands and make them happier and things like that.?

The no-huddle is designed to put pressure on a defense, but the pace also can drain players on offense, mentally and physically. There?s less time to think and less time for players to catch their breath.

Georgia was fourth in scoring and third in total yards in the SEC last season. Murray is expecting better results this year because players are better prepared for the pace.

?I think this year is definitely going to be crisper,? he said. ?We know the offense better and I think players have themselves in better shape to be able to handle the no-huddle offense the entire time. So I definitely think year two is going to be a lot more successful.?

Georgia had three offensive linemen selected in this year?s NFL draft. The offense also lost leading rusher Isaiah Crowell, who was dismissed.

There will be some new names on offense.

Freshman John Theus is the probable starter at right tackle. Redshirt freshman Merritt Hall is the starting fullback. Freshmen Keith Marshall and Todd Gurley are part of a tailback committee.

Coach Mark Richt said it?s ?a little tougher? to break in freshmen while running a no-huddle attack.

?Back in the day you?d call the play in the huddle and then you?d break the huddle and you?d have time to think of it,? Richt said. ?You?d have a pretty good idea what your assignment would be as you?re going up there to the line.?

Richt said new starters must adjust to the tempo and the plays being called through code names or hand signals. Meanwhile, changes on defense could lead Murray to call an audible, putting more pressure on the freshmen to process more information.

?They have to think that much faster,? Richt said.

?That?s tougher on the young guys than it used to be when you?d get back in the huddle, call the play, think about it and go to the line and snap it. It?s just different. It?s a lot harder now.?

Another new challenge: There may be little, if any, help from receiver Malcolm Mitchell early in the season as he plays cornerback while Sanders Commings serves a two-game suspension. Mitchell was the team?s second-leading receiver in 2011.

Despite the challenges, Murray said there is ample offense for better production from the offense. He said he expects better results than last season?s average of 32 points per game.

?We want to score 40 or 50 points or more per game,? Murray said. ?That?s our goal. We have the firepower at running back, at tight end, at receiver. We have a great offensive line. We?re capable of doing that.

?We?re not here just to roll over and say we can win with defense. We want to have our part and our share. We want to help them out.?

NOTES: Richt continued a tradition by taking the team for a swim at the on-campus Ramsey Center on Friday. A loud roar of approval could be heard from the players? meeting room when Richt announced the change from the planned afternoon practice. He continued another tradition by performing a back dive from the 10-meter dive. He has taken the team to the pool for seven straight years, usually in the summer as a break from two-a-day practices. ?Ramsey......I love you,? center David Andrews posted on his Twitter account. ... Actor Samuel L. Jackson wore a red Georgia shirt as he attended Thursday?s practice.
